Iceland‘s 2025 Sustainability Index

Iceland‘s 2025 Sustainability Index (Sjálfbærniásinn) is out and we‘re at the top of the list!

The general public in Iceland has ranked Össur and Embla Medical as the best international company and the second best Icelandic company overall for its sustainability efforts!

This index takes the pulse of 15 000 Icelandic consumers to see which companies they believe are doing the best on sustainability and we received an overall score of 83 out of 100 points.

Why it matters?

• Benchmarks 14 key industries, enabling comparative benchmarking from banking to aluminum.
• Scores range from  0-100; anything above 70 equals excellent performance.
• Companies can’t buy their way in – inclusion is determined by market share and brand familiarity.
